Courtney grew up as an athlete, playing football and baseball in high school and college. Through team sports, he developed an appreciation for working with people, the importance of sound ethical behavior, discipline, perseverance and a reliance on numbers and statistics to monitor his athletic performance. After graduation, Courtney accepted a position with Arthur Anderson, (later became Grant Thorton, LLP). He ventured out of the public practice arena to work as a manager of a prominent local business, but interests developed at Arthur Anderson soon led him back into public accounting at LB&A where he accepted the position of Audit and Accounting Manager. Courtney's dedication and hard work helped him earned his place as a Partner in the firm.
Courtney's emphasis is on client relationships and striving to work alongside business owners in an advisory role. He focuses on bringing practical solutions and best practice ideas to advance the operation of businesses.
Courtney takes a proactive approach to client needs. He strives to quickly identify problematic issues along with appropriate solutions to assist business owners in process improvement, strategic corporate decisions and proactive planning.
Last year, Courtney worked at a local soup kitchen, cleaning, gardening and helping feed over 300 people. In his spare time, Courtney enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and reading.
